What is Cold Rolling?

Legal Definition
Procedure of metal forming, altering the shape and/or structure of through drawing, extruding, hammering, pressing, rolling, spinning, and/or stretching. This procedure occurs at temperatures below the steel's recrystallization point, typically room temperature. The metal's composition changes during these processes, which causes hardness and tensile strength to be permanently increased. It also decreases ductility and impacts resistance, but enhances the surface finish.
