A COLLATERALIZED DEBT OBLIGATION (CDO) arranged by a BANK or SECURITIES FIRM to take advantage of perceived profit opportunities between assembling and managing a PORTFOLIO of credit risky securities or CREDIT DERIVATIVES and issuing TRANCHES to fund the portfolio.
